It’s Memory Monday on Tuesday. . . Psalm 40:8
My plans to get ahead with blogging so I could enjoy my parents as they visited didn’t really happen. So yesterday although I attempted to get a post out, I just didn’t get it done. UGH! But I did enjoy getting to spend great time with my kiddos and parents. God has richly blessed me with two fabulous parents.
How are you doing with memorizing Psalm 40? I am enjoying it and as I looked ahead to this week’s verse my heart jerked.
Psalm 40:8 “I desire to do Your will, O my God; Your law is within my heart.”
Do I really desire to do God’s will?
My heart’s cry is yes, but the truth aches.
Do I listen to His still small voice every day – every minute of every day?
No.
Do I seek His direction for each day?
No.
So I ask again, do I really desire to do God’s will?
I honestly think the answer is yes, but I don’t always live out that desire. I don’t always seek His will and way.
So I pray for myself as I pray for my kids:
Father God, help me to love You so much that I obey You and walk in Your steps all the days of my life. May my love for You and others draw others to want to know You. Oh to bring You glory all the days of my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
For the rest of this week I am going to ask what if I really sought God’s glory every day of my life? What would that look like in my life. I pray it will not only change my worldview, but it will change my heart.
