A Prayer for Wisdom

“If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5

Father God I need wisdom. I am a messy broken child who thinks too well of her intellect. Forgive me for relying on myself. Help me not to be wise in my own eyes. Show me Your way and help me walk in it.

Father I pray for those in authority in our government, homes, businesses, and schools. I pray You will give them wisdom and discernment. Help these leaders to seek wisdom that comes from You – the Author of wisdom. Help guide these leaders in paths of righteousness. May Your wisdom guard our nations hearts and minds in Your Son.

Lord be with the leaders of Your church. Direct and guide them so they may give wise counsel to Your Bride. May Your church seek Your counsel and direction in all things that Your Name be glorified and honored and so many will come to repentance.

Thank You for Your direction when we do not know which way to go.
