Angela Mackey

Hi. I'm Angela Mackey.

I am a stumbling woman in need of God’s scandalous grace.

Through faith in Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross I bear the name Christian. I speak and write to make much of this God, His only Son—Jesus—and the Holy Spirit who lives in me. I graduated college with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and am a Registered Nurse. I also obtained my Masters of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies through Knox Theological Seminary.

Along the way I met my husband. He is a doctor. I was not going to marry a doctor and he was not going to marry a nurse, but God likes to change our minds. We have three children – two came to us through IVF (in-vitro fertilization). If you want to know more about our journey with infertility and IVF as Christians click here.

I am passionate about God’s word. I long to encourage women to rethink their thinking in light of God’s word so they can live transformed lives. I love memorizing God’s word, but still haven’t found a pattern to keep me doing it. I can sew, but don’t like cutting out patterns. I enjoy cooking and good food, but don’t like cleaning my kitchen. I admire organized folks, but struggle to keep my house and life running smoothly. I adore college basketball especially the Kansas Jayhawks (Rock Chalk)! I also love Chiefs’ football and Royals’ baseball. But even more than sports, I love hanging out with my family!

What others say about Angela:

She has a “special gift” of teaching in an easy to understand way, making her audience feel comfortable and she keeps us laughing at her humorous stories. At the end of each study, I come away feeling like I learned a lot. Perhaps the most important aspect is that she inspires me to learn even more and better myself through the wonderful topics of study.

- Angela F.

As someone who was blessed with being able to conceive and birth children without any problems, Angela’s testimony provided a great insight into the particular struggles and difficult decisions facing couples who are dealing with infertility. She helped me to better understand how to pray, how to respond (or not), and how to be a better friend. I appreciate her openness in sharing such a personal part of her life story.

- Laura B. MOPS Director

Angela has such an encouraging spirit. In her talk to our women’s group, she showed us that we can really be part of God’s story and that He has a place for all of us in His plan. Angela was such a blessing to us– she ministered to several in our group that have experienced the same emotional rollercoaster she has dealt with. She shared what she found in God’s word and that we could draw daily from the same source.

- Carol B, Women’s Ministry Director, FSBF

Angela taught through Psalm 23 at our Women’s Retreat. Although we did not know Angela beforehand, there is no need to fear when asking her to speak to your group! She proved to be easy to work with and genuine as our spirits agreed with hers. There was power behind her message as the Lord used her to bring a fresh word from a well-known passage. As a mother and fellow Christian sister, she is well acquainted with the faith and hope it takes to travel this journey we share. She was a blessing!
