Christmas Joy

The joy of Christmas comes wrapped in ordinary. How often do we look for joy in the extraordinary when it is the ordinary God uses to wrap true joy?

Jesus a babe wrapped in ordinary clothes, placed in an ordinary feed trough. Immanuel, God with us, wrapped in flesh, made from dust.

Yet often we look for joy under glittery paper, wrapped in extraordinary things. When the extraordinary is wrapped in ordinary.

Through our Savior Jesus our ordinary dust-flesh becomes the temple of God. The ordinary wrapped around the extraordinary. The joy of God with us always comes in what appears ordinary.

True Christmas joy Is that God comes to us, God’s glory wrapped in human flesh. It is the ordinary that God transforms. It is there that He is with us.

Oh that We would live in the ordinary joy of Christmas all year long.

Father God, thank You for sending Your Son in an ordinary way that we may experience the extraordinary joy of You with us forever. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
