Last Weekend…
August 5, 2011
My girls start school next week…Next week a rigid schedule begins. Waking early, getting ready for school and off we go…
E will be in third grade and L will be in kindergarten. I am in awe of how quickly time has flown.
This summer was just a blink of an eye. A blink in which we enjoyed quality family time, swimming, entertaining guests, crafts, eating ice cream, and more.
So this weekend, this last weekend of freedom, we intend to savor. We will squeeze each drop of time together and stay up late and swim and watch movies.
What have you done or do you do for the last weekend before school starts?

Well I’m already crying…so this weekend will be tough…every summer I have such high expectations, but it seems to be gone before I can even finish my planning…goodbye to another one lost.

Well, summer flies by, but I have found comfort in that although it never goes the way I plan or hope that God knows. I just want to enjoy each moment as it comes even if I never get done what I think I need or want to get done. 😉 Blessing friend.
Hi Angela, yes, where has the summer gone? I feel like it’s just starting! My guys don’t go back to school for 3 more weeks and while some days I’m glad 😉 mostly I feel crunched to get everything in that we haven’t done! Following from vb
Nan, just keep the most important in mind. Time with your precious blessings. My kids mostly enjoy my time, it doesn’t have to be anything “special” or big. Just time. Blessings to you and so glad you stopped by.
Cute pictures. We went to Universal Studios before Abby started preschool.
How FUN! We didn’t do any big trips this year. We just had several guests. It was fun! Thanks for stopping by!
It was really too hot to be much fun, by the last day the lines were 2 hour waits ha. Next year we are going to spend the week before school at home, in the a/c, cooking and hanging out, and take our vacation in the spring or fall.
Ahhhhhhhhhhh – see, this post just makes me glad once again that my “baby” is off to college and I no longer have to worry about school 🙂
Kathryn…Aren’t there great things about each stage your child is in? I don’t want to wish any stage away and I don’t want to pine for the ones that have past, but enjoy where they are. Thanks for joining in! 😉
Our last weekend before school started was spent going fishing, watching Captain America and having a sleep over. Summer surely did fly by in the blink of an eye!

Sounds like a GREAT weekend. Thanks for dropping by!
I didn’t sign up my daughter for summer camp this year. I thought it would be fun for us to spend more time together going to the pool, to the beach, to the water parks, making some crafts and enjoying the season. Her school only starts on september 6th, but I’m already missing her.
Stopping by from VB!
Sounds like a great idea.
