Out of Routine
I locked my kids and I out of the house again. The second time this month. Sometimes I think I am losing my mind. Other times I realize I am a mom with three young ones on my brain. And I have a sinus infection with a slight fever to boot. 😉
Earlier this week I had to write a check for the money tree for a baby shower because I almost forgot and I didn’t have time to run to the bank or the store before the shower began.
Having said that at least twice if not more I had to write a check as a present for my children’s friends. I need to schedule better. Get a better routine, but I feel reluctant. If I make a routine and can’t keep it will I beat myself up? I have in the past.
I have a calendar and I use it, but I don’t always look at it. Bottom line is that this summer my kids and I are all going to need a routine. Not a set schedule, but a routine that doesn’t make us all batty and keeps us sane. A routine that allows for friends and interruptions and time for me to write. One that includes household chores and keep our school skills.
12 Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom. (Psalm 90:12, New International Version)
What does your routine look like? Are you able to keep at least a handle on cleaning, kids schedules, activities, and things you need to do? I can’t wait to hear about your routines.
