Sex and Purity

Last week I wrote about how God called me to speak to kids about sex and purity.

This week I would love to hear from you. How did you learn about sex? What did you wish you knew before you had sex the first time? What helped you and what didn’t help? If you are practicing abstinence what helps you? What doesn’t help? How can married folks encourage you?

I’ll tell you a quick story I remember. In high school one year a speaker came for a school-wide assembly. The speaker shared information about sexually transmitted diseases. We saw pictures of what these diseases could do. I was not scarred by this, but there had to be a better way than trying to scare us into using condoms or abstinence. To this day I remember some of the pictures and terms she used as she described STD’s in all their horror.

Did you have a similar experience? Join in the discussion. I look forward to hearing from you.
