I started skimming through your older entries but your second one caught my eye off the bat with its explanation of holiness. I often fall into the trap thinking that the criticism of church as “holier than thou” means we often think ourselves as “higher” up than the unchurched, but in reality it should mean we’ve made ourselves more separate, more distinct from the worldly culture around us.
I only managed to get through February though before holiday priorities took over, so maybe I’ll update this post as I have time. Thanks for sharing your insights!
Wow Daniel…You read several of my old posts?! Thanks! I am honored.
As for holiness: distinct yes, but also more loving and grace-giving too. Love is to be our distinction (“they will know you are my disciples if you have love for one another.”)
