Memory Monday and News

Hello bloggy friends. It is Memory Monday…

We have been working on Psalm 121…How is it going? I hope well. This is our last week to do Psalm 121. Next week we will review Psalm 103, Philippians 2:3-8, and Psalm 121. Just to keep God’s Word in our hearts and heads. Then the following week we will start some new verses. Thank you so much for joining me in memorizing God’s Word. It keeps me accountable and also encourages me that others are joining me in this journey.

Did I tell you I spoke at a pre-teen lock-in on Friday? Well, I did. There were about 76 kids present. My message was similar to what I wrote last Wednesday – Fear and Forgiveness – and the Wednesday before that – What is Missing.

I told the pre-teens that they needed to fear God because He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and holy, holy, holy. However once we have been saved through Jesus’ work on the cross, we don’t only have to fear God, but now we have hope. We still fear God because of His might, but we have hope because He is able to do all things. We fear God because He knows all things including what we think are secret sins, but we have hope because He has great plans for us. We fear God because He is holy, holy, holy, but we have hope because He wants us to worship Him. So fear and hope go hand-in-hand when we have a relationship with God through Jesus.

The exciting news is the Holy Spirit worked through that message and 14 kids accepted Jesus’ sacrifice and gave Him control of their lives. Isn’t God so good?

I would love to hear from you. How has memorizing God’s Word affected your life? What are some passages you would like to work on together? How can I pray for you?
