What if I Looked for God’s Glory in the Mundane?
Every moment is pregnant with possibility, but most moments slip away the possibility missed.
It happens when I focus on what isn’t right, when an interruption annoys. The moment slips away I miss the opportunity to enjoy God, to thank Him for breath and life, for words lisped from little mouths that grow so fast.
I fail to see God’s plan in the pain, in the joy, the mundane. I waste the possibility to bring God glory, to enjoy His purpose for that moment. Oh to live wonder struck by God moment by moment in the whys and the wows.
While tears will still come possibility can overcome hopelessness. Possibility because God allows the pain for my good and the good of others.
Oh to no longer see my circumstances as good or bad, but as part of God’s perfect plan, His severe mercy, His unexpected gifts.
There in the midst of dirty dishes and mounds of laundry I can find God’s blessings – moments full of God’s goodness – if I have eyes to see them.
Seeing God’s glory in the mundane reminds me that God dwells with me – in me.
There is glory in puppy chewing toys and tears shed – learning to let go of stuff and focus on the eternal.
As I wash dishes, cook dinner, brush my teeth, or pick-up toys God’s glory is there. I see God’s provision, His gift of a healthy body, and healthy kids. When I see God’s glory I respond with gratitude.
Oh to see His glory that my life will be full of thanksgiving and joy all to bring God honor, glory, and praise.
